Homozygous null mice show variable vascular, liver, nervous system, rib and eye defects. Homozygotes for an allele disrupting microtubule binding show partial lethality, small body size, abnormal microtubule alignment in polarized epithelial cells, and multiple axon formation in hippocampal neurons.
