Mice homozygous for a gene-trapped allele show partial neonatal lethality, hypoactivity, and abnormal ventricular septum formation associated with increased fetal cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Surviving homozygotes develop obesity and show an abnormal gait, decreased grip strength, and impaired balance.
