Homozygous mutation of this gene results in lethality from E10 to E19. Mice exhibit cardiac malformations such as double outlet right ventricle and ventricular septal defect and sometimes hemorrhage or petechiae. Mice homozygous for a hypomorphic allele exhibit patent ductus venosus.
