Homozygous null mice display postnatal lethality with abnormal intestinal villi morphology. Mice homozygous for a knock-down allele exhibit growth retardation, partial postnatal lethality, achlorhydria, and abnormal gastric parietal cell morphology and response to histamine stimulation.
