Homozygous null mice display normal retinal morphology and rod function with reduced transducin (Gnat1) translocation. Mice homozygous for a different knock-out allele exhibit large pupils, increased blood pressure, age-related vascular smooth muscle hypertrophy, and stress-induced hypertension.
