Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit altered myelopoiesis, increased proliferative potential of bone marrow granulocytic precursors, increased sensitivity of myeloid cells to apoptosis-inducing stimuli, and inhibited cell cycle withdrawal during a late stage of granulocyte differentiation.
