Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele are born at normal expected Mendelian ratios and appear indistinguishable from wild-type controls. In vitro, mouse embryonic fibroblasts exhibit impaired endosomal trafficking, autophagic flux, and influenza A viral RNA nuclear entry and replication.
