Assay notes: Embryos were dissected and fixed in a manner that rendered the normally curved mouse embryo into a planar orientation. Staining was visualized using laser scanning confocal microscopy. Embryos were subjected to optical sectioning and the sections were then collapsed to generate a single image depicting the entire embryonic vasculature.
