Mutation details: Multiple copies of a tyrosinase minigene (consisting of the Tyr distal enhancer in reverse orientation upstream of the proximal promoter and complete Tyr cDNA) integrated into a 3.3 Mb gene dessert containing highly conserved elements on chromosome 10 between Hace1 and Grik2. An ~26 kb region was duplicated during transgene integration The transgene was co-injected, and co-integrated, with the Tg(SRY-YFP)p16Svs transgene. This Tachetee line was generated in a forward genetic screen aimed at identifying genes with key roles in neural crest cells.
