    Overlapping YAC clones were used to map the following ordered loci with 1Mb of genomic DNA from the Hst1 region of mouse Chromosome 17:D17Zt1 - D17Ph5e - D17Zt8e - D17Zt9e - D17Zt10e - Tcte3 - D17Ph2 - D17Mit78 - D17Zt11e - D17Zt12e - D17Aus53 - D17Leh22- D17Zt2 - D17Zt6 - D17AUs17 - D17Zt7 - D17Zt3 - D17Ph4e - Psmb1 - Tbp - Zfp91-rs1 - Odc-rs15 - D17Ph1 - D17Zt4 - D17Leh55. The testis specific loci were organized into three clusters. Cluster 1 included the loci D17Zt8e , D17Zt9e, D17Zt10e, D17Ph5e and Tcte3 covering 150kb; cluster 2 included D17Zt11e, D17Zt12e and D17Aus53 and covered approximately 75kb and cluster 3 approximately 140-200kb included the D17Ph4e, Psmb1, Tbp, Zfp91-rs1 and Odc-rs15 loci.
