SPRET/Ei mice are resistant to acute LPS-induced lethal inflammation wherein C57BL/6.are resistant. The role of the anti inflammatory phenotype provided by glucocorticoid receptors was investigated. The strains differences between inflammations allow for the mapping of glucocorticoid mRNA levels to mouse Chromosome 18 between D18Mit163 and D18Mit58 to cM position 20 with an LRS of 21.9 with D18Mit163 and 47.7 with D18Mit58. The linkage relationships the various microsatellites are detailed in Table 1 ofthe reference. Authors suggest Nr3c1 as the locus responsible for high glucocorticoid mRNA levels in SPRET/Ei mice.
