Notes
  • Reference
Markers D17Rua10 and D17Rus2 are included within H2-Ea.
  • Experiment
Sets of PCR primers within the H2-Ea region of mouse Chromosome 17 were designed to include exon 5 (D17Rua10) and intron 2 (D17Rua2). The products of these primers were polymorphic for strains in a backcross. Recombination of D17Rua10 and D17Rua2 was observed in 7 of 750 backcross animals from 3 separate crosses. Restriction analysis of a genomic clone derived by PCR amplification within the region of recombination was used to show that a hotspot of recombination occurred over a 2.2kb region of the H2-Eagene and flanked by markers D17Rua10 and D17Rua2.
