  Southern analysis was used to determine that Xist and Cdx4 were physically linked on the same 320kB YAC, YXist1. Pulse field gel electrophoresis indicates that Cdx4 is located approximately 100kb distal to Xist and that the two loci are oriented in a 5' - 3' and 3' - 5' direction.
