Notes
  • Experiment
Flourscent in situ hybridization (FISH) was used to determine the relative order of loci on Chromosome 5 in a Rw heterozygous mouse (from an unspecified laboratory strain). The order of loci on the wild type chromosome is: En2, Msx1, D5Buc1 and Kit. The order of loci on the Rw mutant chromosome is: D5Buc1, En2, Msx1 and Kit. This apparent inversion of loci on the Rw chromosome explains the inconsistencies in recombination frequencies determined through the analysis of (C57BL/6J.bg x PWK)F1 x C57BL/6J.bg and (Laboratory strain-Rw go bf/- go bf x M. spretus)F1 x Laboratory strain-Rw go bf/- go bf backcross progeny.
