Notes
  • Reference
    The albino locus encodes tyrosinase.
  • Experiment
Cardiac lipofuscin in mice was found to completely cosegregate with the albino (c) locus on mouse Chromosome 7 as indicated in F1 and F2 crosses involving B6.C.H25c and BALB/cJ mice. Tyrosinase (tyr) which is coded for at the albino locus directly affects the cardiac lipofuscin phenotype as indicated by the analysis of C57BL/6J -c2J/c2J and C57BL/6J -c2J/+ mice. Multiple genetic factors may contribute to the cardiac lipofuscin phenotype in mice.
