  A variety of congenic mouse strains were used to map the H2 class one gene H2-M1 to the telomeric side of the H2-Q region. This gene is representative of a newly defined subfamily of the H2 complex. Haplotypes of the strains used in mapping are provided in Fig. 3A of the reference.
