Notes

Genetic linkage of low antibody response (Lar) with the albino locus on mouse Chromosome 7 was determined in 296 (B10.BR x SAMP1)F2 mice. Parental strain SAMP1 exhibits low antibody response when challenged with sheep or horse red blood cells whereas parental strain B10.BR exhibits normal antibody response. From a total of 72 albino mice 15 (20%) were low responders, whereas only 18 of 206 (8.0%) nonalbino mice were lowresponders. The correlation data provides a chi-square of 9.00 with a P of less than .01. Low antibody response in F2 animals shows linkage to Tyr (44 cM) on mouse Chromosome 7.
