Notes
  • Experiment
C57BL/6J congenic mice that carry the Chromosome 10 Sl locus from C3HeB/FeJ were intercrossed (C57BL/6J SlC3H/+ x SlC3H/+) and the progeny analzyed using Kitl and Tg.EB probes. Offspring segregated in accord for Sl and the Kitl and Tg.EB RFLVs from C3HeB/FeJ. Sl/Sl homozygotes did not hybridize to the Kitl probe indicating that the locus that encodes for Kitl is deleted in these mice. This supports the assertion that Kitl is a product of the Sl gene.
