Notes
  • Reference
    Authors uses pl-4 for pnlf4.
  • Experiment
Physical localizaton of D9Citb3 was accomplished by complimentation studies of radiation induced deletions in the dilute (d) region of Chromosome 9. There were 48 deletions analyzed; the position of D9Citb3 was suggested as distal to prenatal lethal factor 4(pnlf4) and proximal to se. Three matings between radiation induced deletions Da1 and Db1 (+ seDa1/d +) x (+ seDb1/d +) produced progeny that confirmed that D9Citb3 is near se and is essential for viability. D9Citb3, nl2, and pnlfl4 are within 0.16 cM in the d - se region and, based on average genetic and physical map correspondence may represent as little as 200-300 kb of DNA.
