Notes
  • Experiment
A t-complex gene (Tcte3) present in cosmid 117/11 was identified by analyzing sequences neighboring rare-cutter restriction sites that characterize CpG islands. These sequences were tested for transcription in mouse tissues and used to isolate a homologous cDNA clone. Tcte3 was mapped proximal to Hba-ps4 using a M. musculus x M. spretus backcross panel where Tcte3 segregation was followed using a cos 117/11 fragment restriction fragment length polymorphism (data not shown). Tcte3 was placed between the breakpoints of th49 and t3 using a restriction fragment length variant detected by probe 117B in a panel of partial t-haplotypes. Probe 117B derives from cos 117/8 which overlaps cos 117/11 by 10kb. Together these data map Tcte3 to a ~ 1 cM region in the central portion of the t-complex near Tcd3.
