Notes
  • Experiment
Microcell hybrid cell line 17T-1 and 8D-1 were from fusion of hamster and mouse cells; cell line F(3.8)8-6, F(8)D and F(8)E from rat and mouse cells (backselected in APRT-). Lines F(8)D, 8D1 and F(8)E carry mouse Chromosome 8 (F(8)E also carries mouse Chromosome 9), lines 17T-1 and F(3.8)8-6 carry only Robertsonian translocations Rb(8.17) and Rb(3.8) respectively. EcoRI digested DNA from these hybrids was probed on Southern blots with a StuI-BamHI fragment from exon 2 of the mouse Agt gene. All hybrids with Chromosome 8 were positive for Agt, suggestive of concordant segregation of the gene with mouse Chromosome 8.
