  EcoRI digested DNA from the compound albino deletions c^3H/c^6H deletion heterozygotes c^ch/c^6Hand from +/+ control mice were probed for Tyr on Southern blots using Pme134. The double deletion mice (c^3H/c^6H) failed to hybridize to the probe, whereas heterozygotes hybridized at reduced intensity compared to normal controls, indicating that Tyr maps in the proximity of the albino locus on Chromosome 7.
