Notes
  • Experiment
Evidence supporting the existence of Ri1 (recognition and identity 1) on mouse Chromosome 17 is given in the following experiments. Trained mice were able to distinguish between the urines of C57BL/6 and B6.A-H2-T18a/BoyEgJ congenic animals indicating that a genetic scent determinant named Ri1 is located near H2-T18 (19.78 cM). In addition, trained mice were able to distinguish between the urines of C57BL/10 and various B10.A congenics differing at the H2-K locus, indicating the presence of one or more genetic determinants near the H2-K region (18.65 cM).
