Sequence analysis of Oxct2a and Oxct2b showed that these 2 genes are arranged in a tail to tail orientation on mouse Chromosome 4. Oxcta is found within the third intron of Bmp8a and Oxct2b is found within the third intron of Bmp8b. This places the location of Oxct2a and Oxct2b at approximately 57.4 cM. The order of genes at this locus was determined by BAC contig and is as follows. This region of the mouse genome is syntenic to human Chromosome 1p34.3 and the orthologous human genes follow the same geneorder and orientation as in mouse.

    centromere - Bmp8b/Oxct2b - Ppie - Hpcal4 - Nt5c1a - Heyl - Pabpc4 - Bmp8a/Oxct2a - Macf1 - telomere
