    Cdh23 was mapped within the congenic interval containing DNA segments D10Mit160 and D10Mit48. Occupying the same congenic region are markers mdfw and ahl. The authors found polymorphisms within this region . The positions of the polymorphisms were orders as D10Ntra57 - D10Ntra42 - D10Ntra39 - Cdh23<10497 del11> - Cdh23 INS7+117A - Cdh23753A - Cdh23685A - D10Ntr46 - D10Ntra48. A significant association of a polymorphism (Cdh23753A) within exon 7 of Cdh23 was suggested to cause the ahl phenotype.
