Notes
  • Experiment
Dyscalc1, a locus affecting dystrophic cardiac calcinosis (DCC), was mapped to 23 cM on mouse Chromosome 7 using genome scan on 197 female animals from a (C57BL/6J x C3H/HeJ)F2 intercross. Parental strain C57BL/6J is resistant to DCC whereas C3H/HeJ is susceptible. Dyscalc1 gave a maximum LOD score of 14.6 near D7Mit229. C3H/HeJ-derived alleles confer recessive susceptibility to DCC at this locus. Dyscalc1 was confirmed in BXH recombinant inbred strains. The Dyscalc1 locus is syntenic to human chromosomes 19q13 and 11p15.
