    The authors constructed a physical map using the BACs 250C13 and 139F1 and an YAC 114C7. The minimum size of the interval was estimated to be 300kb between proximal D10Mit138 and distal markers D10Mit48 and D10Mit29. Mutational analysis of two waltzer alleles and expression analysis confirmed the role of the Cdh23 gene in the waltzer phenotype.
