  A database search of genomic sequences around the Ctsz gene revealed the presence of a Rpl30-ps5 pseudogene approximately 2.0kb upstream of the Ctsz gene. The Th1 gene was identified 3' of exon 6 of the Ctsz gene. Th1 appears to be transcribed in the opposite direction to Ctsz. there appears to be a 9 bp overlap between exon 6 of Ctsz and the 3' exon of Th1.
