  • Experiment
    The authors mapped the markers in the Klra8 region by following the segregation of polymorphisms on a panel of 981 [(A/J x C57BL/6J)F1 x A/J] and 920 [(BALB/c x C57BL/6J)F1 x BALB/c] backcross mice. Analysis of the data reduced the Klra8 candidate regionto a 0.35 cM interval. The locus order and distance for the 7.9 cM segment encompassing Klra8 on mouse Chromosome 6 was: D6Mit216 - 5.1 cM - D6Mit52 - 0.5 cM - D6Mit94 - 0.2 cM - Klrb1c, D6Mit61, D6Mit135, D6Mit257, D6Mit289, D6Mit338 - 0.35 cM - D6H12S2489E, Kldr1 - 0.05 cM - Cmv1, Klra1, Klra3, Klra7, D6Mit370 - 0.3 cM - D6Mit13a, D6Mit111, D6Mit219a, Prh1, Kap - 0.3 cM - D6Mit374a, D6Mit290, D6Mit220, D6Mit196, D6Mit195, D6Mit110. This result excludes Kldr1 and D6H12S2489E as candidates, hereas it localizes Klra1, Klra3 and Klra7 within the Klra8 genetic interval.
