| Caption | E8.5 Gmeb2em1(IMPC)J/Gmeb2em1(IMPC)J embryos are mainly indistinguishable from control littermates. By E9.5 approximately 1/4 of the Gmeb2 mutants are dying (not pictured here). All Gmeb2 mutants are among the smallest in the litter and most are delayed. The majority of E9.5 Gmeb2 -/-embryos display incomplete turning, mild caudal neural tube kinking, abnormal tail morphology, abnormal head shape. A minority display abnormal heart morphology. In those that were dissected with intact yolk sacs some displayed pale or abnormally vascularized yolk sacs. By E10.5 a range of severity is observed in mutant embryos but all are delayed. Most have abnormally shaped heads, display incomplete turning and abnormal tails. | ||||
