Caption Nrltm1Jcco/Nrltm1Jcco (Nrlfl/fl) retinas are indistinguishable from wild-type (Nrl+/+) retinas by H&E histology and in situ hybridization for rod and cone transcripts. Germ-line recombination of the floxed Nrl alleles via Sox2-Cre, Nrltm1.1Jcco/Nrltm1.1Jcco (NrlCKO/CKO) recapitulates the Nrltm1Asw/Nrltm1Asw (Nrl-/-) phenotype in which adult rods are reprogrammed into cone-like cells.
