The open arrow indicates the connecting cilium of the wild type (WT) rod (F). Predegenerate rod outer segment (ROS) of Gucy2e^tm1Gar/Gucy2e^tm1Gar Gucy2f^tm1Wbae/Gucy2f^tm1Wbae retinas (G and H) have a striated appearance of alternating lamellae and tubules that may underline patchy patterns of rhodopsin kinase immunoreactivity.
