(A) Schematic representation of the strategy used to generate the Dmrta2^tm1.1Fuma and Dmrta2^tm1.2Fuma alleles. Exon 2 of the Dmrta2 gene, which includes a sequence encoding the DM domain of Dmrta2, is flanked by loxP sites. The neo-cassette flanked by FRT sequences was removed by crossing Dmrta2 mutants with ACTB-FLPe (Tg(ACTFLPe)9205Dym) transgenic mice, creating the deltaNeo cassette targeted allele, Dmrta2^tm1.1Fuma. The Dmrta2^tm1.2Fuma (Knockout) allele was generated by crossing mice with the Dmrta2^tm1.1Fuma allele to the Ella-Cre (Tg(EIIa-cre)C5379Lmgd) transgenic mice.
