Despite their overall delay, E8.5 Gcn1^em1(IMPC)J/Gcn1^em1(IMPC)J (-/-) embryos appear to display appropriately formation of all 3 germ layers. Some remnants of the pluripotent marker Oct4 remain in the primitive streak of the mutant.
