Arpc1a^em1(IMPC)J/Arpc1a^em1(IMPC)J (Arpc1a-/-) placenta phenotype. At E9.5, Arpc1a-/- placentas are properly developed and comparable to controls. At E10.5, Arpc1a-/- placentas exhibit an expanded Tpbpa+ spongiotrophoblast layer and multiple labyrinth zone defects. The Tfeb+ labyrinth trophoblast layer is markedly reduced compared to controls. Chorioallantoic branching is nearly absent, as Gcm1 expression is sparse and remains at the chorioallantoic interface.
