Image
Caption Alg3em1(IMPC)J/Alg3em1(IMPC)J (-/-) embryos are normal at E8.5. By E9.5 they are sometimes smaller and a minority display abnormal tail placement or shortened tails, although overall are difficult to discern from their litter mates. By E10.5 the homozygous mutants are apparent and are delayed with abnormal head shape, particularly the forebrain. Many have cardiac defects and abnormal blood pooling in head and heart. All mutants are dying by E11.5.
