Arrowheads and arrows highlight agenesis or hypoplasia of neuronal differentiation in the midbrain and cranial ganglia. E10.5 mutant embryos exhibit hypoplastic trigeminal ganglia with truncated maxillary and mandibular branches. Tuj1 staining shows disorganization and agenesis of the facioacoustic/vestibulocochlear, glossopharyngeal, and vagal branches.
