Fen1^tm3.1Bhsh/Fen1^tm3.1Bhsh mice accumulate apoptotic DNA in tissues as a result of retarded apoptotic DNA degradation and increased DNA damage induced apoptosis. (a) Accumulation of apoptotic nuclei in the mutant tissues. Kidney and lung tissue sections were concurrently stained with DAPI (blue) and TUNEL (red).
