Caption Vestibular evoked potentials (VsEPs) and hair bundle morphology in 2- to 3-month-old control and Eps8l2tm1Wma/Eps8l2tm1Wma (Eps8L2-KO) mice. (A) Representative VsEP waveforms collected at +6 dB (re: 1.0 g/ms) for five heterozygous control and five homozygous (KO) mice. All animals had measurable VsEPs. (B) Response peak P1 latencies for homozygote mutants were significantly longer than heterozygote littermates. (C) Average P1-N1 amplitudes were not significantly different between genotypes. VsEP thresholds were also similar for the two genotypes averaging near -9 dB (re: 1.0 g/ms). Confocal projections of posterior medial extrastriolar (D and E) and striolar (F and G) regions of phalloidin-stained utricles from heterozygous control (D and F) and mutant (E and G) mice. Vestibular organs were prepared, phalloidin stained, and imaged as previously described. No obvious differences in bundle morphology were observed between heterozygous and mutant mice.
