Specific deletion of Lyn in dendritic cells (DCs) causes lupus-like autoimmune disease. (A) Kidney sections from 8-month-old control, Lyn^tm1Sor/Lyn^tm1Sor (lyn^-/-), and Lyn^tm1.1Calo/Lyn^tm1.1Calo Top2a^{Gt(PST14568)Mfgc}/0 (lyn^f/f Cd11c-cre⁺) mice were analyzed for signs of nephritis (H&E staining, Upper) and the presence of C3 deposit (Lower). Arrowheads and arrows indicate enlarged glomeruli and inflammatory foci, respectively. Representative pictures are shown; the presence and severities of the disease were graded. Scale bars, 100 um. (B) Sera from 6-month-old control and mutant mice were used for detection of IgG ANAs on fixed Hep-2 ANA slides. Representative pictures of six to eight mice per group are shown.
