H&E staining of 25 um coronal sections of P0 Dmrta2^tm1.2Fuma/Dmrta2^tm1.2Fuma (Dmrta2-/-) brains at the equivalent plane of the rostral, middle, and caudal regions. The size of the cerebral cortical area defined by H&E staining in homozygous mutants was reduced by approximately 40% compared with the control brains. The hippocampal structure almost disappeared in homozygous mutants, and the formation of the entire medial structure was disorganized.
