RNA in situ hybridization on sections of brain at E12.5 (A-I) and at E13.5 (J,K) at fore- and midbrain levels. Levels of sectioning are indicated in Fig. 2 (MGI:5510976). Due to curvature of the anteroposterior brain axis, the section level is horizontal in the forebrain and transverse in the midbrain. Black arrowhead in (F,G) points out spear-shaped expression domain near the zona limitans intrathalamica. Arrow in (F,J) designates alar hypothalamic expression domain. White arrowheads in (I,K) indicate dorsal and ventral longitudinal expression domains in superior colliculus.
