Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption 1(B) Morphology of E3.5 embryos derived from heterozygous Gnl3Gt(S4-4B1)Sor intercrosses. Embryos were sorted into morphologically normal and abnormal sets. The first set was a mixture of wild-type (+/+) and heterozygous genotypes, the second set was exclusively Gnl3Gt(S4-4B1)Sor/Gnl3Gt(S4-4B1)Sor. Although littermate wild-type or heterozygous embryos formed blastocysts with a discernable blastocoel cavity (arrows), inner cell mass (stars), and trophectoderm (the outer cell layer surrounding the embryos) at E3.5, homozygous embryos resembled morulae and exhibited various degrees of morphological degeneration.
