Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Photographs are aligned with the pigment epithelium at the top and the vitreal surface at the bottom. At this stage the retina consists of a broad zone of mitotic cells and developing neuroblasts in the outer two-thirds of the retina and a ganglion cells layer in the inner one-third. In the +/+ wild-type retinas, Pou4f1 (A) and Pou4f2 (C) immunoreactivity are found only in ganglion cells. In the homozygous retinas, Pou4f1 immunoreactivity is absent (B), and Pou4f2 immunoreactivity is unaffected (D). In the homozygous mice, no differences in retinal structure are discernible by cresyl violet staining ( E & F). Scalebar: 25um
