Caption | Allele-specific expression assays of Xlr3a-Xlr3b, Xlr4b and Xlr4c show variable imprinted expression in neonatal liver and X inactivation, but a lack of imprinting, in E16.5 mouse placenta. Negative image of ethidium bromide-stained agarose gels. Xlr3: the upper band (arrow b) corresponds to a 231-bp cDNA fragment of Xlr3b, which is specific for the C57BL/6J allele. The lower band (arrow a) corresponds to a 216-bp Xlr3a fragment, which represents both idiotypic (C3H and C57BL/6J) and neotypic (C3H specific, allelic to C57BL/6J Xlr3b) Xlr3a. Parental alleles of Xlr4b in C3H and Xlr4c in C57BL/6J correspond to 521-bp and 752-bp amplification products, respectively. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
