(A-D) Epha4 mRNA expression in (A,B) whole-mount E13.5 spinal cords (A, brachial region; B, lumbar region) or (C,D) sections of E14.5 spinal cord at levels indicated by arrowheads in (B). Additional sections at the same level were analyzed by in situ hybridization with a Lim-1 probe (E), by immunohistochemistry with an antibody against islet-1/2 (F,G), combined with beta-galactosidase activity (G).
