Assay
Reference: J:17224 Bober E, et al., Pax-3 is required for the development of limb muscles: a possible role for the migration of dermomyotomal muscle progenitor cells. Development. 1994 Mar;120(3):603-12
Assay type: RNA in situ
MGI Accession ID: MGI:1333943
Gene symbol: Pax3
Gene name: paired box 3
Probe: Pax3 probe2
Probe preparation: labelled with S35 RNA
Results
Specimen 4A/E/I: embryonic day 10.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS17: trunk somite Present Regionally restricted 4A , 4E/I Pax-3 expression was clearly wider than Myf-5, including both myotome and dermomyotome.
TS17: forelimb bud Present Regionally restricted 4E/I , 4A Similar expression domains for Pax-3 and Myf-5 were observed in two locations of forelimbs at the ventral and dorsal sides, which later give rise to the flexor and extensor muscles.
TS17: embryo Present Regionally restricted 4A Pax-3 transcripts were also detected in the region between trunk and limbs, an area that presumably contains migrating muscle precursor cells.

Specimen 4C/G/K: embryonic day 10.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS17: trunk somite Present Regionally restricted 4C , 4G/K Pax-3 expression was clearly wider than Myf-5, including both myotome and dermomyotome.
TS17: hindlimb bud Present 4C , 4G/K
TS17: embryo Present Regionally restricted 4C Pax-3 transcripts were also detected in the region between trunk and limbs, an area that presumably contains migrating muscle precursor cells.

Specimen not shown: embryonic day 12.5 (more )
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: embryo Trace
