• on a normal diet
• on a high fat diet weight catches up to wild-type mice on a normal diet but is still less than diet-matched wild-type controls

endocrine/exocrine glands
• decrease in global level of proteinaceous 3-methyl His in the pancreas
• however proteinaceous 1-methyl His is similar to controls
• phosphorylation and expression analysis indicates unfolded protein response activation and increased inflammatory cytokine expression

homeostasis/metabolism
• higher casual blood glucose level
• blood glucose levels remain higher than diet matched controls on a high fat diet
• on a normal diet
• on a high fat diet serum insulin shows only a mild increase
• marked glucose intolerance
• however, insulin sensitivity is similar to controls
• on a high fat diet homozygous mice show better insulin response compared to diet matched controls
• no difference in insulin sensitivity on a normal diet
• absence of RPL3 methylation at the N3 position of H245 in the pancreas, brain, liver, and kidney
