reproductive system
• cauda epididymal spermatozoa exhibit malformation of the tail structure
• all cauda epididymal spermatozoa display irregular flagellar bending
• cauda epididymal spermatozoa exhibit coiling of the sperm tail around the head
• cauda epididymal spermatozoa exhibit abnormal and underdeveloped acrosome
• all cauda epididymal spermatozoa have abnormally shaped heads, missing the hook shape
• spermatozoa are immotile
• males are infertile, despite forming copulary plugs
• however, testicular weight and spermatogenesis are normal

• massive abnormalities in epididymal spermatozoa, however no abnormalities in the testicular spermatozoa
• in both the round spermatid and testicular spermatozoa stages, no structural differences in spermiogenesis are seen
• globozoospermia occurs after the testicular spermatozoa moves from the testis to the caput epididymis
