cardiovascular system
• left ventricular fractional shortening and ejection fraction are reduced
• the reduced cardiac contractility is not exacerbated by pressure overload-induced by angiotensin II stimulation
• however, mice show no obvious changes in myofiber size or in the extent of cardiac fibrosis
• echocardiography shows reduced left ventricular fractional shortening and left ventricular ejection fraction, and increased left ventricular end-systolic diameter, while left ventricular wall thickness and end-diastolic diameter are unchanged
